Frequently asked questions about Bachilton Barn

Access

  • Yes, our venue wheelchair accessible. We have a ramp at the front door, and all the venue is on one level apart from Lochy room which has an accessible ramp. The venue also has a disabled toilet.

  • Our farm road entrance on the A85 is fully accessible for buses, there is a few speed bumps at the cottages to be mindful of. The buses can get parked and turned in the main car park.

  • We have parking at the main venue which cars can be left in over night. There is parking at the cottages and yurts for guests staying onsite. We do ask guest to be mindful we are a working farm and not to park on the roads at the cottages.

  • Access to the venue the day before your event depends on your package choice, time will be confirmed in your terms and conditions.

  • Events have access to the venue until 01.00am.

  • We hold a ยฃ500.00 damage deposit on arrival to your wedding, this is refunded back to the card within 5-7 days of your event. Any damages to the venue, accommodation or grounds will be processed from this and booker will be advised on damages.

Heating, Cleaning and Lighting

  • We provided heating in all areas on the barn, which is discreetly hidden with the roof. We also have lots of small heaters if extra are required โ€“ this is included within your package cost!

  • We include all fairy lights outside and inside the venue! Our full Barn roof is draped in fairy lights and down the walls. In Bachilton we have fairy lights along the beams of the roof. Outside there is festoon lights along the building and gazebo. All included within every wedding package!

  • Our venue will be cleaned ready for your arrival; our team will also clean and break down the venue after the wedding day โ€“ therefore you donโ€™t need to clean up post wedding. If you are using the venue the day before or after your wedding, we do ask for the venue and areas used to be left as found.

  • Our venue has built in sound system in both The Barn & Bachilton with one microphone available to use. For an outside ceremony and drinks reception we have a portable sound system.

  • No we donโ€™t have a noise limiter within our barn!

Accommodation

  • We have two glamping mongolian yurts and five self-catering cottages. Together they sleep 40 people.
    Each yurt and cottage comes with a hot tub and is pet friendly.

  • There are lots of local hotels and accommodation nearby, either in Crieff or Perth city centre.

  • Our yurts share internet access with the venue (no password), and our cottages each have their own wifi routers per property.

  • Couples usually choose to get ready in either Ninetrees or Dovecote cottage, as both are open plan and provide lots of space for stylists and the wedding party.


    We also see couples get ready in the yurts, having a relaxed morning taking in the views from the hottubs.

  • Yes, we supply linen and towels for both the yurts and cottages. We suggest bringing an extra towel for hot tub use.

Bar & Catering

  • Yes we do! We have two bar structures available, plus a range of drinks packages available for your wedding, alongside a fully stocked and staffed bar. https://www.bachiltonbarn.co.uk/bachilton-bars

  • Of course! Drinks Package One (https://www.bachiltonbarn.co.uk/bachilton-bars > Download Brochure and Sample Bar Menu) allows you to have โ€˜DIYโ€™ drinks package, where the couple supply the drinks and we provide the team to serve them.

  • Sunday - Wednesday: the bar will have last orders called at 11.30pm, with the bar closing at 12am.


    Thursday - Saturday: the bar will have last orders at 12am, with the bar closing at 12.30am.

  • Bachilton will fully stock and staff the bar. If you have special requests for drinks, please let us know and we will do our best to cater to them!

  • No. We ask couples to choose from a list of our recommended caterers for their wedding day. They are tried and tested, and always deliver high quality food and service.

  • Yes, that is no problem at all, we will charge an external catering fee for your own catering team to be brought in and use the space we have available.

Planning & Coordinating

  • Either Kayleigh or Ellie will be on hand the day before and on your wedding day to help and ensure you have the best day. Both girls will be here to help during your wedding planning as much as you need it!

  • Yes of course, our team has created a day before package, from ยฃ450, for us to assist with setting up your dรฉcor!

Pets, Venue & Grounds

  • Of course! Our venue and accommodation is entirely pet friendly, we just ask for them to kept on a lead outside (due to the venue being a working farm), and for them to be cleaned up after.   • You are more than welcome to have confetti inside or outside, we just ask you only use biodegradable confetti in both locations to protect the environment and animals.

  • Unfortunately, as we are a working farm with livestock we are unable to have fireworks onsite โ€“ you are more than welcome to have sparklers though!

  • Yes, you can have open flames as long as they are within a candle holder and in a safe location. If they are unsafe or freestanding, our team will not light them, or may move them in order for them to be lit. We will do our best to advise you before your wedding day.

  • We love a smoke bomb! We just ask for these to be used in an open areas only and popped in the bin after use.
